Hello everyone, there's been a recent surge of questions regarding the matter of system requirements to run Minecraft. I'm going to address those questions, as well as a couple of issues that some of you may have. First of all, our server is hosted for Minecraft: Java Edition. Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is not compatible with our server, and therefore mobile devices and game consoles running this edition cannot connect to your server. This is not actually an issue with the fact that the former edition is written in Java (as the name suggests), and other in C++, but rather an issue with game mechanics between each edition. For example, Redstone, or Minecraft's "wiring" system not dissimilar to wiring circuits in the real world, functions differently on each edition, so that a perfectly working contraption on Java Edition won't work on Bedrock Edition, so it is very difficult, if not impossible, to make a server that sorts out all of the differences between editions. Minecraft is a sandbox game that, depending on what you're doing, can be very resource-demanding. This website goes into detail on system requirements. However, the minimum and recommended system requirements for Minecraft have also been posted below for your reference: www.wepc.com Minecraft System Requirements 2019 & 2020 | WePCCan your PC run Minecraft? We have all the Minecraft system requirements you need to know including both minimum and optimal specs.I always recommend getting a computer that meets the "Recommended" requirements, as "Minimum" requirements are almost always the bare minimum, and a computer that falls under that category will struggle to run Minecraft smoothly. Minecraft: Minimum Requirements
CPU: Intel Core i3 3210 | AMD A8 7600 APU or equivalent
RAM: 4 GB RAM
HDD: 180 MB to 1 GB available space
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 or AMD Radeon R5 series | NVIDIA GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 or better
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Minecraft: Recommended Requirements
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690 | AMD A10 7800 or equivalent
RAM: 8 GB RAM
HDD: 4 GB (SSD recommended) available space
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 700 Series | AMD Radeon Rx 200 Series
OS: 64-bit Windows 10
Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 or better
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Most modern computers - PCs or laptops, in the $400-$750 range should outperform the recommended requirements range. Minecraft is not a very graphically-demanding game, to begin with, so investing money in a "Gaming" laptop is not required, but more for personal preference or to guarantee "smoother gameplay" in a variety of games. I won't go into detail about this subject since there are many well-written guides online for those interested.
Assuming this happens on both Singleplayer worlds and other servers, try turning down your render distance by going to Options --> Video Settings --> Render Distance. To prevent server lag, players cannot see over 8 chunks anyway, so turning this down to 8 or below should help.
Turning down other settings, such as Particles to "Minimal" or Graphics to "Fast" may also help. The below image shows ideal settings for maximum performance at the slight cost of visual quality.

Installing Optifine, a popular Minecraft mod, may also help. This is a third-party mod that helps with performance and adds more configuration options. The link is below. For installation instructions/help, do a quick search on how to install this mod.
https://optifine.net/home Problem: Low amounts of lag, but players constantly appear to be "teleporting" around. (server lag)
Yesterday's battle consisted of a maximum of 12 players, and most of the time, server lag seemed to be kept to a minimum. Minecraft runs on a system of 20 "ticks" per second. Each tick, entities update their position, blocks update their behavior if needed, and so on. If a server drops under this 20 TPS limit (<19), then the server will start to have some delays between player interactions and visual feedback. In this case, it would not be a problem on your end, but rather a server-side problem that I would have to fix.
However, if the server is running at around 20 TPS, but you're still experiencing delays (different to stuttering/choppy gameplay), then it may be an issue with your internet connection. Run an internet speed test to ensure that your ping is below 100ms. Anything above may be the culprit of this problem. This problem can be fixed by moving the connected device closer to your router, connecting to Ethernet, or connecting to the main router of your home if you're using an extender.
Problem: Minecraft crashes
There are many reasons why this could happen on a server, or while playing in general, but sometimes, this may be a problem with the amount of RAM you have allocated to Minecraft. To fix this problem, open your Minecraft launcher, and click "Installations" at the top.

Then, click the Minecraft version that you play on. On the "Edit installation" screen, click "More Options".

Finally, in JVM arguments, change the part where it says "2G" in "-Xmx2G" at the beginning of the line to something suitable, like 4G. Then, click "save". Make sure your system has at least 8 GB of RAM before you do this! Never allocate more than half your system RAM to Minecraft.

If your Minecraft is still crashing, refer to this page on the Minecraft Wiki for more info.

Hopefully this has cleared up some confusion and resolved any issues that you may have had yesterday, or in general while playing Minecraft. If you have any other issues, please do a quick Google search, or post a comment in the discussion.
